This May 2009 report by the Congressional Research Service examines military, foreign policy, and war-related spending packages approved by the U.S. Congress during the years since the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. The report’s summary contends that funding for the wars in Iraq, Afghanistan and the overall Global War on Terror could total as much as “$1.8 trillion for FY2001-FY2019.”
