Spain: Acting PM Pedro Sanchez agreed to a deal with the Catalan separatist party Junts to extend amnesty to those involved in the illegal 2017 referendum on Catalan independence in exchange for the party’s political support. The deal now gives Sanchez, leader of the Socialist Party, enough votes in the country’s lower house to become prime minister. (New York Times)
