Adam Fforde is a professorial fellow at the Centre for Strategic Economic Studies, Victoria University. He is the author of a range of studies of contemporary Vietnam, including “From Plan to Market: The Economic Transition in Vietnam,” with Stefan de Vylder (Westview, 1996), and “Vietnamese State Industry and the Political Economy of Commercial Renaissance: Dragon’s Tooth or Curate’s Egg?” (Chandos, 2007).
