Andrew Lebovich is a history in action research associate at the Social Science Research Council and a visiting fellow at the European Council on Foreign Relations. He is also a doctoral student in African history at Columbia University in New York, where his research focuses on religious linkages and politics in Algeria and West Africa in the 20th century.
