Cassandra Steer

Cassandra Steer is a mission specialist with the Australian National University Institute of Space (InSpace) and a senior lecturer at its College of Law. She has published widely on space security, including space situational awareness, space traffic management and the application of the law of armed conflict and use of force in outer space. She has also been a consultant on space law issues for the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, the Australian Department of Defense, the Canadian Judge Advocate General’s Office, Global Affairs Canada and the U.S. Department of Defense. Steer is a member of the Australian Space Agency’s Technical Advisory Group for Space Situational Awareness, an associate expert on the Woomera Manual on the International Law of Military Space Operations and a member of the International Institute of Space Law.
