Charles Schaefer is professor of history and chair of the International Studies Department at Valparaiso University. He has written on Ethiopian elections since 1992 as an election observer, post-election analyst and country specialist. He is co-editor of "The Ethiopian Red Terror Trials: Transitional Justice Challenged" (James Currey, 2009).
