Daragh McDowell holds a doctorate in international relations from the University of Oxford and specializes in the politics of the former Soviet Union. He currently resides in London where he works as a freelance journalist and consultant. His work has appeared in the Irish Times, the Sunday Independent as well as World Politics Review.
