David H. Ucko is an associate professor and director of the Combating Terrorism Fellowship Program (CTFP) at the College of International Security Affairs (CISA), National Defense University (NDU) in Washington. He teaches counterterrorism, counterinsurgency and strategies for countering irregular threats. Dr. Ucko is also an adjunct professor at Johns Hopkins University. He is the author of Counterinsurgency in Crisis: Britain and the Challenges of Modern Warfare (Columbia University Press, 2013) and of The New Counterinsurgency Era: Transforming the U.S. Military for Modern Warfare (Georgetown University Press, 2009). He is also co-editor of Reintegrating Armed Groups After Conflict: Politics, Violence and Transitions (Routledge, 2009).
