Emily Burchfield is the assistant director of the Atlantic Council’s Rafik Hariri Center for the Middle East, where she focuses primarily on the conflict in Syria, its regional implications and its impact on U.S. foreign policy. She is a frequent contributor to the Atlantic Council’s outlet SyriaSource, and has experience working with Syrian and Iraqi refugees in both Jordan and the United States.
