Evelyn Villarreal is research coordinator for the State of Justice
Report, a regular in-depth analysis of the Costa Rican judiciary
produced by the San Jose-based State of the Nation Program.
She is also president of Costa Rica Integra, the local chapter of
Transparency International. She holds a master’s degree in Latin
American studies from the University of Oxford and a degree in political
science and international relations from the University of Costa Rica.
