A hobby drone pilot herself, Greenwood became interested in drones and their humanitarian and journalistic potential while pursuing a master’s degree in journalism at Stanford University. Prior to New America, Greenwood worked as a reporter in Southeast Asia, with a focus on technology and the Internet in developing countries.
