George Joffé teaches postgraduate studies of the contemporary Middle East and North Africa at the University of Cambridge, in England. Previously, he was the deputy-director of the Royal Institute of International Affairs (Chatham House). He is currently the co-editor, with Phillip Naylor of Marquette University and Greg White of Smith College, of the Journal of North African Studies, which he founded in 1996. His most recent publication, which he edited, is “North Africa's Arab Spring,” published by Routledge.
