José Clavijo is a retired Venezuelan career diplomat whose postings abroad included Tunisia, Denmark and—as chargé d’affaires—India, Japan, Dominican Republic, Philippines and Morocco. He was also formerly the head of the Asia Department for the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry. He studied political science at the University of New Orleans and the American University in Cairo, Egypt, and received a master’s degree in International Politics from the University of Bristol, U.K.
