Kurt Pelda is the Nairobi-based Africa Bureau Chief of the Swiss Daily the Neue Zürcher Zeitung. In addition to his March 2007 travels in the Darfur-Chad border region documented in his “Road Diary” on WPR and his October-November 2007 trip to Darfur that is the subject of another WPR diary, he has made three trips to Darfur with Darfur rebel groups since 2004. He was previously correspondent of the Financial Times Deutschland in New York.
