Nelson Oppong is a lecturer in African studies and international development at the University of Edinburgh, where his research focuses on the political economy of extractive industries, institutional reform and governance in developing countries. He is also a fellow at the Ghana Center for Democratic Development and has served as a consultant for the World Bank, the Commonwealth Secretariat and various international risk advisory firms.
