Steven Feldstein is a senior fellow at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace’s democracy, conflict and governance program. He is also the Frank and Bethine Church Chair of Public Affairs at Boise State University. From 2014 to 2017, he served as U.S. deputy assistant secretary of state for democracy, human rights and labor. From 2011 to 2014, he served as the director of the Office of Policy at the U.S. Agency for International Development.
