Yigal Schleifer covers Turkey as an independent journalist and analyst based in Washington, D.C. Schleifer is also the editor of the Turko-File, a EurasiaNet.org blog covering Turkish foreign and domestic affairs. Between 2002 and 2010 he was based in Istanbul, where he worked as a correspondent for the Christian Science Monitor and the English-language service of the German Press Agency (DPA).
