Bangladesh: PM Sheikh Hasina won a fourth consecutive term yesterday, following an election that was boycotted by opposition parties and marked by a low voter turnout of 41.8 percent as well as violent protests. Hasina’s party, the Awami League, won 222 seats out of 299, extending her 15-year rule, under which the country has seen its democracy increasingly eroded. (AP)
